In The Beginning

There was only you, a formless being in a vast sea of cosmic dust. Slowly... you grew in power and found the ability to concentrate the dust into forms. Massive gas clouds began to form around you, as well as stars and planets. The more you created the more powerful you became. Even learning to master the mysterious forces.

Then you noticed something strange. Distant points of light...

You were not alone.

Your siblings had also been busy, building there own sections of the Universe. Now it is a race to build the stars and become the most influential being in the Galaxy.

Overview

Cosmos is an engine-building / hand management card game for 2-4 players. Players race to create enough celestial objects into their area of space to complete a common goal, which takes the form of a randomly selected Galaxy card. Once the goal is achieved by any player, the player with the most points wins.

The Undead Viking has great things to say about this game. We were very excited and even a little surprised to hear how much.

Game  Setup

-Seperate the Galaxy cards from the Dust cards. Shuffle the Galaxy cards and draw one randomly, display it so all players can see.

-Shuffle the Dust cards together to form the draw deck and deal each player 5 cards. Place the deck face down so all players can reach it and deal 5 cards face down out in a line from the deck. This creates 6 draw options.

-Place the Material Tokens aside so all players
can reach them.

-Designate a spot for the discard pile.

All cards in the deck are multi-use.

Play Overview

-At the beginning of your turn you will draw 2 cards from any of the draw choices, replacing cards from the top of the deck as you do. When drawing cards, you can not look at any of those cards until all cards have been drawn. (If you have 1-0 cards in your hand at the beginning of your turn, you will draw 3 cards instead of 2.)

-Next you will add a Material Token to each card you control that doesn't already have one.

-Play as many cards as you want or can afford.

-Play or Pass. Either way you must discard down to 8 cards in your hand at the end of your turn.

-Players take turns until one player meets the Galaxy card condition. This ends the game immediately.

-Players then add up the points from all cards they control. The player meeting the Galaxy condition also adds points from the Galaxy card.
